Our Story

Ever since they were born, we’ve done our best to avoid toxins for our children and raise them with a clean lifestyle. From the foods they ate, to the baby lotions, creams, and ointments we used, everything was safe and natural.

We pored over ingredient lists and spent hours researching which products were safe and which were not. We spoke with doctors, naturopaths, nutritionists, and other holistic-minded mamas making sure we provided our children with the cleanest products possible.

As our daughters grew, they began to take an interest in the more “grown-up” cosmetic and bath and body products that we use – lotions, makeup, perfume, deodorants, bath salts, etc. They wanted to explore all the fun and beautiful ways to express themselves with the pretty products their moms used. After all, that’s just part of growing up.

But we soon discovered how tough it was for us as parents to do what’s best for our daughters, yet also find products the girls would actually choose for themselves. So we decided it was time to take matters into our own hands and make it ourselves.

We made it our mission, our ultimate goal, to create plant based, organic skincare products for young girls that are safe, natural, and non-toxic. But of course, still beautiful and fun to use.

We both understand how hard it is to be unsure of what you’re placing on our own skin, let alone our kids’. Now we can take comfort knowing our daughters wear the clean and safe products that we have created, using only the highest quality of pure and simple botanical elements sourced from nature. We’re so excited to eliminate one less toxic beauty product on our shelf, and still let our girls wear the products they want and love.

Our organic shimmer lotion is just the beginning of a new line of honest, natural, and safe products for our daughters and yours. We are committed to creating clean and organic skincare that girls will actually want to use, and that you can trust.

Lola and Bells is a brand that girls can call their own. But it’s more than just beauty products. It’s an opportunity to let our girls know we recognize that they are growing up, and we celebrate and respect this rite of passage.
